Spider-man/Venom insignia tutorial

Description

(PIC #1 TOP TO BOTTOM)  Here's the back.  I'm going to attempt to do a tutorial on how to do the spider logo on the back.  I've already tested it on the front and it seemed to work pretty well.  This is the before pics... It would work for the superman, batman and whatever other symbol or insignia you'd want to put on a sculpt if you're working in clay or wax...though, there may be unintentional chipping if you carved it in baked clay.

(PIC #2)  I just applied super sculpey to the castilene.  I shaped it to the front first with my hands and a soft rubber tipped tool and then peeled it off and put it on the back, so that the size would be the same. (vaseline will make it much easier to peel off if you apply a small amount to the area you'll be working on beforehand) I may modify it a bit, but this is essentially how I do it before I trace around it with a thin needle like tool.  I feel it's easier and more precise than freehand however, I'll have to do some of that when separating the legs within the logo.  It's also great to be able to tinker with it and get the flow right on top of the anatomy before doing anything to damage the sculpt.  I'm sure there's other ways and better techniques, but this is just how I did it.  If this technique was used with clay/sculpey it would be easier and less risky if it were baked first bc it would likely dent and bruise the area that you're working on, but as I mentioned above, there may be some chipping, especially if you apply too much pressure while trying to etch out the lines.

(PIC #3)  And finally...You trace around the shape you made in clay, peel the clay off and clean up the carved in lines with turpenoid or alcohol.  It's not a big deal, but that's it and here's what it should look like...(I'll just show the front since it's already finished)
